For both promotion and tenure, the faculty member is evaluated in four categories: teaching, scholarship, student support, and service. The faculty member submits a concise portfolio documenting accomplishments in these areas. Wherever possible, it is recommended that a single portfolio for tenure and promotion to associate professor be submitted. In the portfolio, the faculty member should indicate clearly the percentage of time devoted to each category for each of the years under review. These percentages should be those developed in conjunction with his/her department chair.
